CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE BY US

Caorle created this gorgeous, improv-looking quilt of triangles with a surprising method twist - she paper pieced them!

This makes it the perfect pattern for the person who loves the look of improv, even if it doesn’t come easily to them. You can check out her pattern here.

Carole put together this version with vibrant neons, and pops of a black and white print. The triangular quilting pattern and binding accents pull together funky, light-hearted, and modern, all in one quilt.

Tessellation

PIECED BY MEGHAN ESCHBAUGH

CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE BY US

This quilt is jam-packed full of prints from all of our favorite modern fabric designers - Heather Ross, Cotton and Steel, Anna Maria Horner, and more! Meghan made this quilt using the Tessellation pattern, by Alison Glass and Nydia Kehnle. The original quilt was made in all solids, and this is the first print rendition we've seen. It's incredible, isn't it?

She kept the corner triangles as a fun flourish, with a cream binding and simple quilting to keep the focus on the quilt top. Folding, draping, and crumpling up this quilt changes the look drastically, making it look almost like a different quilt depending on how you lay it! She backed it with a mustard floral print to tie everything together.

Brittany wanted to design "a simple, vintage style to reflect something my grandparents would've proudly displayed in their abundance of Christmas decor." She nailed it with this quilt!

Brittany sent this to be quilted by Knot and Thread, and we documented the finished product. You can now purchase the pattern to make this quilt yourself! We think it would look fabulous in almost any color.

I absolutely adore the way it looks draped! It's a baby / throw size, and would be the perfect compliment to a modern nursery or living room. The variety of simple geometric shapes combined into one quilt top creates a quilt that is interesting to look at from a variety of angles, folded or unfolded. Pattern available here, original quilt for sale here.

Brittany shared that this design was "inspired by the rich Native American history in the mountains of Western North Carolina".

Resound

PIECED and quilted BY Erika Nickens

PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE 2 BY US

For this vibrant quilt, "Resound", Erika alternated black and white blocks with blocks filled with bright colors. She used a scrappy, string piecing method for this funky lap / throw sized quilt. It would make a really fun baby quilt, too! She quilted it with simple lines; the focus on this quilt is the pattern in the quilt top itself. The bold color choices, balanced with the monochromatic prints, combine to create a pop-art look.

She is featured, alongside this quilt (and these photos) in the July/August 2018 issue of Sewn Magazine. Go check it out! Erika, you rock!!

Alli, one of our Brand Ambassadors, sent this lovely twin-sized quilt to our studio to be photographed. She used lots of neutral yardage and added pops of color with charm pack squares to create darling little accents.

It has a fresh and sweet look to it, accented by the longarm pattern: quilted flowers with loops. Alli has this pattern available for sale here.

Revived Vintage Stars

QUILTED BY AMY GARRO, www.13SPOOLS.com, @13SPOOLS // PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE 2 BY US

Revived Vintage Stars is baby quilt with scrappy postage stamp blocks, interspersed with simply paper-pieced blocks that make up the navy star pattern. Amy free motion quilted it with a traditional orange peel pattern. She backed it with a lavender Tula Pink print and bound it with a black and white polka dot.

This quilt was inspired by a vintage quilt that Amy found on Pinterest. She tweaked the layout and kept within the vintage feel of the pattern by mixing in 30s style fabrics.

QUILTED BY JOANNE KERTON, www.CANUCKQUILTER.com // PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE 1 BY US

Pattern available HERE

This fun quilt is perfect for the little ones in your life! Joanne offers a pattern for Starfall in baby, throw, and twin sizes. It combines isosceles triangles and traditional 6-pointed stars in a joyful 'falling' pattern. Joanne sewed this version with bright, vibrant florals alongside a cream background fabric. She quilted it with a combination of straight lines and diagonals, switching whimsically between the two.

A Bit of Christmas in May

quiltB-3 (1).JPG

QUILTED BY ERIKA MANNINGHAM-NICKENS, @MODSCRAP // CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE BY US

Erika created this queen-sized quilt with postage-stamp, scrappy piecing. She backed it with a fun, newsprint-y fabric that picked up the limey-greens in the quilt top. She bound it with an angled red & white stripe, which gives a fun hint of candy cane to this Christmas quilt.

WHAT MAKES THIS QUILT SUCCESSFUL

Erika carefully created three categories of postage stamp blocks: red squares only, green squares only, and half & half in a checkered pattern. The way she placed these three blocks creates a transparency effect that helps the viewer's eye to move around the quilt. The subtle pattern looks like simple patchwork when the quilt is bundled up, and gives that familiar, cozy feel of an old quilt. Erika updated the Christmas color palette using bright, even lime greens, in place of the typical evergreens. There are even a few hints of turquoise green mixed in.
